Research
Interests
I am investigating
the likely effect of global warming on the outcome of competition at vegetation
boundaries. Focussing on the high altitude cool-temperate rainforest at
Barrington Tops, NSW, my work comprises an integrated series of studies
including field measurements and transplant experiments, analyses of existing
databases using GIS techniques, and growth cabinet experiments.
Another aspect of my work is studying how Nothofagus moorei recovers after fire, and I am monitoring some rainforest stands that were badly burnt in the November 2002 bushfires at Barrington Tops.
