Global Phenology

There are several phenology websites in the northern hemisphere which collate data from observers and place it on the web.  Participants include schools, native plant societies, research organizations and interested individuals.  Click on the small images below and see what is possible when many people submit flowering dates from all over the country!

Ceonothus sp.
The University of Alberta's PlantWatch site is probably the liveliest phenology site on the internet at present.  They have the greatest participation of  schools and school children.  Click on their "Phenology Resources" link for more  interesting information.
Caltha sp.
The British phenology site is attractive, and has some amazing "real-time" graphs and maps.  Phenology has been a pastime here since the 18th century, and the community-based "Nature's Calender" has over 13,000 active observers!
Triodia spp., Uluru National Park, NT
Indigenous Weather Knowledge, Australian Bureau of Meteorology site.
Aciphylla sp., New Zealand
Liveattentively, is a site based in NSW which puts up summaries of observations which delineate the seasons, particularly in the Hunter region.
