Education

- PhD candidate. February 2006 - Present. Macquarie University.
- BMarSc (Hons). 2004. Department of Biological Sciences, Macquarie University

Career History

For my honours project in 2004, I looked at the fine-scale genetic structure and dispersal patterns of bottlenose dolphins in the Hunter region in NSW. In 2005, I continued working in the Molecular Ecology lab with Luciano Beheregaray focusing on the Phylogeography of Amazonian Fishes project. In the second half of 2005, I worked at the University of the Azores, Portugal on the project: Ecological niche partitioning between two species of dolphins around the Azores and Madeira

I started my PhD with Luciana Möller and Luciano Beheregaray in February 2006. I am investigating the social structure of bottlenose dolphins in Port Stephens NSW. This will involve identifying spatial and temporal patterns of associations within and between sexes and assessing the relationship between reproductive strategies and reproductive success in males.
