Visiting Day

In 2006 we are organizing a single day (Friday August 18th) when people considering a research degree can visit Macquarie and explore what we have to offer in a concentrated and efficient way.

For details link to timetable. Briefly, we aim to provide:
• Intellectual speed-dating: brief conversations with a wide range of potential supervisors
• Individual in-depth discussion with whichever supervisors you find most interesting
• Opportunity to talk with current postgrads about what Macquarie is like
• Food, drink, and all-round cheerful time

We realize that current honours students can't spend much time thinking about potential PhDs while their honours year is still going on. August 18th has been chosen as the date because we hope it doesn't coincide with any particular crisis for you, and it leaves reasonable time for you to ponder and make further visits or enquiries before the deadlines for scholarship applications at end of October.

Travel assistance

If finances are holding you back from coming, contact rdelves@bio.mq.edu.au. We are willing to fund travel to the Visiting Day and accommodation for potential students who would be competitive for scholarships.
